Who, what, where, when and why?

This website makes it easy to find more women's voices.

More women's voices for your podcast library, for your reading lists, to add to the stage, to feature in articles. We've done the research on finding them.

This website is, quite simply, a list of women entrepreneurs, business owners, authors, podcast hosts, and speakers. It is not an exhaustive list, but it is a start. If you want women to feature in your panel, this website should make it even easier to find them.

If you want to nominate more women entrepreneurs, authors, speakers, and podcasters to include on this list, please nominate as many as you would like.

Questions for consideration:

  • If you are a writer, how many of your recent references were male versus female?
  • If you are a conference organizer, how many of your speakers or panelists are women?
  • If you listen to podcasts on a regular basis, how many of them are hosted by women?
  • If you read books and engage consultants on business, how many of your perspectives are from women?
  • And why?

Who Created This?

This website was created by Sarah Peck and Alex Peck as a “Romjul” project (Romjul is the Nordic word for the time between Christmas and New Years).

Sarah, an author who works in the tech startup scene, found herself having one type of conversation far too often. “I tried to find more women for my panel, but I just couldn't seem to find any,” someone would say to her. She started keeping a spreadsheet and sharing the list with people every time this conversation came up. Digging deeper, she and her partner Alex found that this “subtle bias” was rampant and, without thoughtful efforts to the contrary, stayed consistent.

They decided to take the list and make it into a public website.
